Faye Garner

Director

Faye Garner became involved in Science Olympiad in 2013 – 2024 as head coach of Westfield high school and in 2024, jumped into the world of Division A as head coach at Lake Anne Elementary. She is a passionate advocate for Science Olympiad and recently has helped coaches build their programs in Division A and B. She has been an event supervisor at the regional and state level, and an event writer for multiple invitational events. She is driven by the belief that Science Olympiad empowers students to discover their potential and develop a lifelong love of scientific exploration.


Currently a Science Resource Teacher within the Office of School Support for Fairfax County Public Schools, Ms. Garner empowers teachers and students across the district to achieve success in science. When she isn’t carrying around supply kits for her teams, she can be found spending time traveling internationally with her husband and four children.


Ms. Garner earned her B.A. in Biology from Hood College, and her Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Science from Northwestern State University, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She recently earned her endorsement in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia.
