Middle (Div B) and High (Div C) School
Divisions B and C are VASO's flagship programs. VASO holds regional qualifying tournaments open to all registered teams in Virginia. The State Tournament, held in-person on the UVA campus, is open to the highest scoring teams at the regional tournaments. The State winners in each division are then invited to the national tournament in May.
2023-24 Season
In the 2023-2024 tournament season, VASO plans to return to having fully in-person tournaments! In that case, we would not be using our hybrid model of the last couple of years or using Scilympiad, although remember that you can see all kinds of tournament models at Invitational tournaments.
Tournament dates and locations will be announced in the fall of 2023. Typically, regional tournaments are in late January through early March, and teams have input about which regional they will attend. The State tournament will be in late March through early April.
