Board, State Director Emeritus
Tim Harazin first became involved in VASO as the state director in 2005. He continued in this role until a reorganization of VASO was facilitated to expand the organization. He continued to volunteer and has been a member of the VASO Appeals Committee since it was established in 2012. As an appeals member, he strives to interpret event rules and resolve issue that promote fairness and equity for all teams and participants.
Mr. Harazin has recently retired from his position as an elementary science specialist with Fairfax County Public Schools overseeing elementary school science materials. He started working with FCPS in 1988 and has taught science at the middle and elementary levels.
Mr. Harazin's wife is an educator in Instructional Technology. His daughter works for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and his son is doing graduate study at Oxford. Born and raised in Chicago, Mr. Harazin often returns to his hometown to visit family and replenish his supply of deep-dish pizza.
